Pinnacles & Challenges
Your birthdate divides a life into four long periods. Each has a pinnacle — the theme the years keep returning to — and a challenge, the difficulty that arrives with it. Only your date of birth is needed.
Reduce month, day and year to single digits. The first pinnacle is month plus day, the second is day plus year, the third is the first two added — each reduced to a single digit first, so a master 11 adds as a 2 — and the fourth is month plus year. Challenges use the differences between the same figures and are left unreduced, so a challenge of 0 is a real result. The first period ends at thirty-six less your Life Path; the second and third last nine years each; the fourth runs to the end.
Traditions differ on how challenges are dated — some run one challenge across a whole life, others align them with the pinnacles as we do here. Where a method is contested we say so rather than picking quietly. Readings are for reflection, not prediction.
The two work at different scales. The pinnacle sets what the period is for; the personal year sets what these twelve months are best spent on inside it.
